Chapter 75: Killing the Enemy
~~~
If it were just a 3rd-level witchcraft practitioner, even with an experience value exceeding 90%, the official walkers could still eliminate him through a "sea of people" strategy. Capturing him alive would be more difficult, but achievable. However, now they were facing four formidable opponents, and the situation was different. It was hard to say who was the hunter and who was the prey.
Zhang Yuanqing remained alert but not panicked. He sensed that the situation was tricky but didn't panic. He quietly moved closer to Li Dongze and Guan Ya, knowing that he had many cards to play, and he would prioritize protecting the two if things took a turn for the worse.
Captain Qingteng's expression became serious, and she looked at the four "beasts" while speaking in a low voice, "White Dragon, Big Muscle, you two work together to entangle Heng Xingwu. Li Dongze, you are skilled at evasion, deal with the spider woman. I'll take on the insect, Tang Guoqiang, you handle the snake."
"Guan Ya, your marksmanship is good, be in charge of providing support. Yuan Shi, you are responsible for ambushing and can act freely. The others, each of you choose one team leader to assist and pay attention to the lineup."
"Once we deal with the three monsters, we will join forces to kill Heng Xingwu."
"Understood," the team members responded in unison.
Big Muscle Tyrant took the lead. A fireball appeared in his palm, and he stepped forward, fiercely throwing it at Heng Xingwu. However, Heng Xingwu didn't move, just slightly tilting his head, causing the high-temperature fireball to hit the wall behind him and shatter with a "bang."
The sparks scattered, but they didn't disperse. Instead, they condensed into a burly figure in the air – Big Muscle Tyrant.
This was the active skill of a 3rd-level fire adept – Firewalk!
Within a range of twenty meters, they could walk using the flames and achieve a teleportation-like effect.
With this skill, Big Muscle Tyrant closed the distance and enveloped himself in scorching flames, illuminating the dark living room.
His appearance surprised everyone. Big Muscle Tyrant's body burned with blazing flames, and his aura instantly became ferocious. He approached Heng Xingwu and launched a rapid assault.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
A series of explosions resounded, and the living room was filled with scorching flames. Big Muscle Tyrant's fists rained down on Heng Xingwu's chest, face, and abdomen, creating sparks and forcing the witchcraft practitioner to stagger backward.
"Your fist technique is pretty good, it hurts a bit!" Heng Xingwu grinned and retaliated with a kick to Big Muscle Tyrant's lower abdomen.
Big Muscle Tyrant was like a soccer ball kicked away. He slammed into the wall on the other side of the corridor, causing the wall to tremble loudly.
This wasn't due to a lack of technique, but a disparity in strength. The creature Heng Xingwu had assimilated had defensive and strength characteristics.
While Big Muscle Tyrant was sent flying, White Dragon stepped on the water, flying up to the second floor. She didn't use the back of her long knife, instead holding two water balls in her palms, and aimed them at Heng Xingwu.
These three monsters were indeed Judge's servants. They had been tormented by the Fallen Holy Grail's power and willingly allowed Heng Xingwu to modify them in order to survive, hunting their enemies to gain merit.
Guan Ya aimed her guns at Heng Xingwu, interrupting his monologue. With a gunshot, a fireball exploded on the wall behind Heng Xingwu, but it didn't deter him. He grinned and commented on the fist technique, then retaliated with a kick to Big Muscle Tyrant's lower abdomen.
Without warning, White Dragon rushed forward, unleashing two water balls from her palms at Heng Xingwu.
Explosions echoed through the room, and the situation inside the villa changed abruptly. The ceilings rumbled and collapsed, creating numerous openings through which countless menacing insects, resembling locusts, spiders, and various other types, emerged. They all shared the common characteristic of having vivid and colorful colors.
This sudden appearance caught everyone off guard, and the chaotic environment made it difficult to ensure they wouldn't be attacked by the poisonous insects.
"Hoo, hoo, hoo..." The flames surged, and the three fire adepts were enveloped in blazing flames, driving away the darkness and bringing light.
Everyone surveyed the living room, and the scene that met their eyes sent shivers down their spines.
Numerous strange insects covered the living room floor – some had fierce mouthparts, some resembled locusts, some were as large as palms, and others were of unrecognizable species. All of them were brightly colored.
While the flames brought light, they also caused flickering shadows, and the lighting was limited, making it difficult to ensure they wouldn't be attacked by the poisonous insects.
Zhang Yuanqing had an idea and rushed toward the open kitchen, clapping his hands to turn on the lights on that side. A living room this large couldn't have only one chandelier for illumination.
"Great job!" White Dragon, carrying a black long knife on her back, breathed a sigh of relief and said loudly, "Smash the water tap; we need water."
Without hesitation, Zhang Yuanqing punched the water tap, but to his surprise, instead of a fierce jet of water, large amounts of clear water gushed out from the broken water pipe, flowing like a living entity in the air.
The clear stream passed over the floor, the sofa, and every corner of the living room, carrying away the various species of poisonous insects. Finally, it condensed into a water ball the size of a water tank, with numerous dead insects swirling within it, rising and falling as if they were alive.
White Dragon opened her palms and clapped them together.
"Boom!"
The water ball exploded, and water droplets mixed with insect corpses splattered all over the living room.
"Nice!" Watching this scene, Zhang Yuanqing couldn't help but praise. He thought to himself that as expected of a mage; their skills were so flashy. If it were him, facing the current situation, he would have to rely on various strategies to handle it. After all, the Night Wanderer's role at the Transcendent stage was an assassin.
At this moment, Li Dongze, as a scout, suddenly looked up, sensing a dangerous force on the second floor rapidly expanding. He immediately warned, "There's danger on the second floor!"
"Looking for death!"
In Heng Xingwu's eyes, this kind of attack had too many flaws and was simply seeking death.
He pulled his fist back, briefly gathering power, and then his muscles swelled as he pushed his fist forward, aiming at White Dragon's head.
"Puff!"
White Dragon's head exploded, turning into a spray of water droplets, only to reassemble in the next second.
Undeterred, she pushed the water ball in her palm towards Heng Xingwu's chest.
"Hiss, hiss!" The scales that had been burned red-hot by Big Muscle Tyrant emitted white smoke.
"Damn woman..." Heng Xingwu roared in anger, his amber vertical pupils glaring at Guan Ya in the living room.
Ignoring him, Guan Ya didn't continue shooting, as others still needed her support.
At this moment, the spacious living room was in chaos. The only Night Wanderer hid in a corner, calmly observing the situation, not rushing to take action, maintaining the patience expected of an assassin.
"Seeking death!"
In Heng Xingwu's view, this kind of attack had too many flaws and was simply courting death. He thought that White Dragon and the others were making a grave mistake.
He pulled back his fist, briefly storing power, and then fiercely launched it forward, aiming for White Dragon's head.
"Puff!"
White Dragon's head exploded and turned into a spray of water droplets, only to reassemble the next second.
She didn't lose momentum and pushed the water ball in her palm towards Heng Xingwu's chest.
"Hiss, hiss!" Countless gunshots followed.
Heng Xingwu felt a sharp pain in his chest, and his sturdy scales were penetrated by the bullets, emitting white smoke.
"You damn woman..." He roared angrily, glaring at Guan Ya in the living room.
Ignoring him, Guan Ya didn't continue shooting as others still needed her support.
At this moment, the spacious living room was in chaos.
The scene was tense, and the fight was fierce.
At this moment, the western side of the living room was engaged in a fierce battle between the Spider Woman and Li Dongze, along with two Earth Golems and two Wood Spirits.
The Spider Woman had four legs supporting her body and four other legs like spears, rapidly attacking from different angles. Li Dongze was skillfully fending off her attacks with his staff, either blocking, swinging, or thrusting, successfully countering the four "spears" coming from different directions. He seemed to be able to predict the trajectory of the Spider Woman's attacks, and when he couldn't defend, he relied on agile footwork to dodge.
Watching this, Zhang Yuanqing was amazed by Li Dongze's close combat skills. He thought to himself that he was wrong to have joked about Li Dongze's "75-gold coin eyes."
The two agile Wood Spirits surrounded the Spider Woman, circling around her and shooting at her abdomen and head. Their bullets tore through the dark and bloated abdomen, causing yellow-green liquid to ooze out. However, the Spider Woman didn't possess strong defense, but she had a formidable self-healing ability. The wounds caused by the bullets quickly healed.
It was strange that these monsters didn't use their skills. Could it be due to the aftereffects of being altered, or did they lose their sanity and couldn't control their skills anymore? Zhang Yuanqing pondered over this, but suddenly noticed that Li Dongze was in danger.
Li Dongze saw the Spider Woman's abdomen convulsing, and her head rising high.
He knew it was bad and instinctively dodged to the side. However, the spot where he was standing a moment ago was covered by a sticky cobweb.
Li Dongze continued to roll and avoid a few rounds of cobwebs, but one finally hit his legs, firmly sticking him to the ground.
The Spider Woman's eyes were burning with anger, and her two iron-like legs lifted, aiming to pierce Li Dongze's body.
Li Dongze was worried and felt the danger. In a split second, he rolled to the side, avoiding the attack. However, the two Earth Golems also faced a life-and-death struggle against the Spider Woman.
Meanwhile, Zhang Yuanqing rushed over to Li Dongze, who looked bloodied and was in pain. Li Dongze took a deep breath and said with a wry smile, "Of course, there's something wrong. This isn't very graceful."
"I can't fight anymore. These level 2 Earth Golems can't withstand her piercing attacks. Your evasive skills are a bit lacking, and we can only rely on sneak attacks," Li Dongze added.
Zhang Yuanqing observed the dangerous situation and thought about which item to use. However, the situation was chaotic and changing rapidly, and he hesitated on which item to use.
The battle between the two Earth Golems and the Spider Woman had reached a critical point.
In Li Dongze's astonished gaze, Zhang Yuanqing took the dagger and stabbed it into his own thigh.
In an instant, the dagger, originating from the Enchantress Gouge, came back to life, greedily sucking its master's life essence. Zhang Yuanqing felt himself growing weaker...
The Spider Woman had strong self-healing abilities, and ordinary attacks had limited impact on her.
The Bloodthirsty Blade's bleeding effect was perfect for countering her self-healing ability.
"Guanya, cover me!" Zhang Yuanqing shouted as he entered his Night Traveler state, his body gradually disappearing.
At the same time, Guanya, who was in the midst of shooting at Hengxing Wuju, spun her body, twisted her waist, and raised her arms, aiming the gun at the Spider Woman. She decisively pulled the trigger.
Compared to the Wood Spirits' somewhat random marksmanship, Guanya's shooting accuracy was unparalleled. Her bullets hit the Spider Woman's head, shoulders, and chest, causing blood to spurt and flesh to split open.
The Spider Woman staggered from the impacts. The two Wood Spirits, feeling relieved, scrambled to get away as they could barely hold on.
As they fled, they looked back at the Spider Woman and saw her pale and slender neck strangely split open from one side, as if sliced by a sharp weapon.
Thud! Thud! Thud! The Spider Woman, tilting her body, used her eight legs to move incredibly fast, narrowly avoiding decapitation.
A figure suddenly appeared before the Spider Woman. Guanya's feet slid, adjusting her angle, about to shoot and cover Zhang Yuanqing.
Just then, the Spider Woman's fair and slender neck eerily split open from one side to the other, as if sliced by a sharp weapon. She raised her head and let out a mournful roar.
A powerful sound wave reverberated, leaving everyone inside the villa, including the three monsters, in a daze, their minds blank.
The Spider Woman raised her upper body high, and her eight legs moved in a dizzying manner, shifting more than ten meters to the side, evading the fate of being decapitated.
A figure rose into the air and appeared in front of the Spider Woman. Guanya slid her feet, adjusting her angle, and was about to shoot to protect Zhang Yuanqing.
Just then, the Spider Woman's neck, which had been cut open, opened even wider, from one side to her ear, emitting a horrifying scream. She raised her head, revealing a red mouth that split all the way to her ears.
Geez, this woman is actually a Bard... Zhang Yuanqing tried to transfer the dizziness and confusion to the Little Joker within him at this critical moment.
The Spider Woman, with her neck cut and her head thrown back, raised her front legs and slammed them down fiercely.
Oh crap, this woman is a Bard after all... Zhang Yuanqing thought to himself, trying to transfer the dizziness and confusion to the Little Joker within him at this critical moment.
The Spider Woman let out a mournful roar as she lifted her upper body high, her eight legs striking the ground powerfully, moving more than ten meters to the side, narrowly avoiding being beheaded.
In the next moment, Zhang Yuanqing's Night Traveler state allowed him to pass through the sound wave, maintaining his clarity.
However, the other people, including the three monsters, were all affected by the sound wave, their minds temporarily blank.
Taking advantage of this momentary chaos, Zhang Yuanqing's figure disappeared in a flash and reappeared behind the Spider Woman.
Upon witnessing the gruesome demise of the Spider Woman, Zhang Yuanqing felt a mix of relief and sadness. He knew that her fate was sealed once he activated the Bleeding Blade's ability. Despite the monstrous appearance, she was still a living being, and her death was a sobering reminder of the dangers they faced.
The villa fell into silence as everyone took a moment to catch their breath and process what had just happened. The battle had been intense, and the toll was evident on both sides. The injured were being tended to by their teammates, and those still standing remained vigilant.
Zhang Yuanqing, now out of his Night Traveler state, approached Li Dongze and checked on his injuries. "Are you alright?" he asked, concern evident in his voice.
Li Dongze forced a smile. "I'll live," he replied, though the pain in his leg was evident.
"We need to be more cautious," Zhang Yuanqing said. "These creatures are formidable opponents, and they won't hold back."
The others nodded in agreement, realizing the gravity of the situation. The battle had just begun, and they needed to stay focused and adapt to their opponents' abilities.
As they regrouped, the sound of footsteps echoed through the villa. Zhang Yuanqing turned to see a figure approaching from the staircase.
It was a tall, humanoid figure with blue scales covering its body. Its eyes glowed with a cold, calculating light, and its sharp claws glistened in the dim light. It was the last of the four monsters, the Insect Man.
The Insect Man looked around the room, seemingly unaffected by the previous battle. Its cold gaze settled on Zhang Yuanqing, and it let out a low growl.
Without hesitation, the Insect Man lunged at Zhang Yuanqing, moving with incredible speed. Zhang Yuanqing's Night Traveler instincts kicked in, allowing him to evade the initial attack, but the Insect Man was relentless in its pursuit.
Zhang Yuanqing did his best to dodge the attacks, but the Insect Man's sharp claws grazed his arm, leaving a deep gash. Blood flowed freely from the wound, and Zhang Yuanqing winced in pain.
Realizing that evasion alone wouldn't be enough, Zhang Yuanqing activated the Enchantress Gouge once again, aiming to stun the Insect Man and create an opening for a counterattack. However, the Insect Man seemed unaffected by the ability, its cold, calculating eyes fixed on Zhang Yuanqing.
With a menacing growl, the Insect Man launched another attack, and Zhang Yuanqing could feel the danger escalating. He needed to think fast and come up with a new strategy.
